About NORWEP

How we work

Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) is an organisation with a clearly defined objective: to support and assist in the internationalisation of the Norwegian energy industry. We are acting as a catalyst for processes between Norwegian industry and international businesses and governments.

Our vision is to strengthen the long-term value creation and employment in the Norwegian energy industries through focused international efforts, building on the collective competitiveness of our partner companies.

History

Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), is the result of the merger between INTSOK and INTPOW in 2017.

INTSOK was established in 1997 by the Norwegian oil and gas industry and the Norwegian Government. The upstream oil and gas sector is a vital element in the Norwegian economy. INTSOK's objective was to work with companies throughout the industry to expand the business activities in the international oil and gas markets on the basis of the industry’s leading edge experience, technology and expertise.
The industry developed competitive, high quality products and services in one of the most demanding oil and gas provinces in the world, the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
INTSOK was an effective vehicle for promoting the Norwegian offshore industry’s capabilities to key clients in overseas markets and providing market information to its partners.

INTPOW was the only national and the principal networking organisation for the Norwegian renewable energy industry when founded. INTPOW’s members were Norwegian authorities, companies and other industry participants with an international expansion strategy. INTPOW facilitated meetings and brought parties to the table with international clients and potential alliances.
